The double stitch
Please start at with the Single stitch section and make sure you understand that before trying the double stitch. I put more explanation there.
As before the black cord represents the "flower".
The first stitch.
The second row stitch still goes through the flower.
Here comes the first stitch that is not going through any petals.
Pass it OVER the RIGHT side of TWO rows above it. Pass it UNDER both stitches.
Bring it out over BOTH rows of stitches.
Bring it over itself as well. Note, with wire you would not want the rows as close as the blue and orange wire are above, if they get that way, seporate them with a needle.
Here is one more row for clarity, but now I am out of different colors...
Here is a Double Stitch in 30g Fine Silver
This peice was single stitch 28g but I ran out. The Double stitch begins 11 rows up from the current row.
Note the use of the Left Thumb to keep pressure on the last stitch.
The Left Thumb (or finger) will help you get tight stitches and even rows
Starting a stitch
Drawing a stitch through
End each stitch with a nice crisp bend
