Make a Pendant
Double or Single stitch? The Left hand side is Single Stitch in 28g and the Right hand side is Double Stitch 30g (I ran out of 28g). Finds of each occure.
Four rows done, still shaping over bead and geting larger. (Single stitch, 28g)
Time to start reducing.
Push the pendant up on your mandrel. Keep it in place and keep last stitch under pressure with your L. Hand, in this case L. Thumb. (This is Double stitch in 30g)
Note L. Thumb keeping pendant in place as you reduce the diamiter of the pendant. As you go keep working it up the mandrel, in this case a pen.
You can do a stitch or two off the mandrel to reduce the size quickly, but it is hard to get a crisp stitch this way. You really need something in there to gently tug against.
Keep working it smaller and smaller. Don't worry about closing it, that will happen later.
Again, L. Thumb is still securing the pendant as we work very close to the end of the pen.
When you have worked your peice as to as small a diamiter as you want (or can) work a few rows at that diamiter. Then start making it bigger again.
In this way, you save having to start all over each time. You can make several beads and you will cut them appart later.
In the beging do not worry about the shape of the beads being the same. That will come later. The red pen in the bottom of the picture was the form for the second bead.
Here is a double bead with a few of the finished beads.
