Clip it, close it make a ring
To finish a bead, first cut it free from the flower (if it is still there).
Then cut it free from the bead below.
Here a quite small 30g bead (a little over 1 cm) is cut free for finishing.
This bead has been cut free above and below but the ends have not yet been closed
Gently squeeze the ends closed. Any loose wire can passed through a loop or two and tucked in. The end has not yet been tucked in on this peice.
With the ends now finished an awl or needle is used to open a space in the top of the bead for a ring.
Gently work an opening in the bead.
A short length of 20g fine silver is placed through the opening.
Use a small round object to wrap the wire into a ring. Here a pen is used.
Bend the ends of the ring around.
Clip them close. A round nose or flat jawed set of small pliers can be used to bend the ends of the ring close. Avoid pliers that have jagged surfaces on the jaws as they will bite into the soft silver.
